Dillon Quirke Foundation Cardiac Screening day in Sallins on Wednesday 1st July
Dillon Quirke was a young Tipperary hurler who passed away from Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS) during a match in 2022. The Foundation was set up in Dillon's name by his family to raise awareness and try to protect other young people and their families from SADS by carrying out Cardiac screening days for sports clubs around the country. This service is in great demand & Sallins GAA are grateful to the Quirke foundation for facilitating a one day screening on Wednesday 1st July. We have been informed that they can accommodate a maximum of 45 boys and girls strictly between the ages of 12 and 18. All must be currently registered members of Sallins GAA.
The Foundation rely on donations, fundraising and sponsorship to carry out their work. They request a donation/contribution towards their costs. Each screening session will cost €50 (payable on registering on Club Zap) which will go towards the costs incurred. The actual cost to the Foundation is more than double this amount.
The Club Management Committee has decided that the fairest way to allocate the 45 places would be on a first come first served basis. Therefore the 45 places will be on sale on Clubzap from 6pm tomorrow evening Sunday 14th June.
If you manage to secure 1 of the 45 places you will receive an email link directly to the screening providers Advanced Medical Services (AMS) which will look for all the required details of your child. It is vitally important that you read all the information provided by the Foundation to ensure you are fully aware of what is involved.
When registering for the screening you will be asked to pick an available appointment time slot.
Please message Brendan Owens 087 9794772 or Siobhan Cronin 087 6336118 for any queries.
Link open at 6pm today.
