Dear Member/Mentor,

Following the announcement regarding our expected return to training from 26th April, we need to ensure our GARDA VETTING and SAFEGUARDING LEVEL ONE is under way.

These apply to all mentors who have players under the age of 18 years.

Please read this announcement and take the necessary actions.

GAA GARDA VETTING (valid for 3 years)

This MUST be done ASAP for any mentor who has not started their application already.

SAFEGUARDING LEVEL ONE

1. If mentors/volunteers completed this course in the past they are now eligible to complete an on-line refresher course. It only takes about 45 minutes.

2. For new mentors or any mentor/volunteer that did not previously complete a safeguarding course they must do a Temporary On-Line Course.

This course is valid until 31st December 2021

Once the course is completed mentors must print the certificate and e-mail to sallinsbordnanog@gmail.com or childrensofficersallinsgaa@gmail.com

The temporary course is only a short-term solution.

Sallins GAA has given the names of all mentors who did not previously complete a safeguarding course and once the GAA deal with the backlog they will appoint a tutor and give us a date for a full on-line Safeguarding course.

Mentors will be advised of this date and must be available to complete the course.

Safeguarding level one course is mutually recognised by the GAA, LGFA and the Camogie Association.

We need to adopt a zero-tolerance policy so please take the time to complete your Garda Vetting application and the Safeguarding Course.
